Barrons are delighted to acknowledge that Bill Hiron, a valued and long-standing client of our Practice, has been honoured with an MBE in the recent King’s Birthday Honours List in recognition of his contributions to Passenger Transport.

Bill is Chairman of the Eastern Transport Holdings Group, incorporating Stephensons of Essex and NIBSBuses, is Managing Director of the Appleblossom Group, incorporating Galloway European Coachlines and Galloway Coach Travel, as well as being the current Chair of the Association of Local Bus Managers (ALBUM). Bill remains committed to supporting the work of the Confederation of Passenger Transport, sits on its Bus Commission and Finance and Governance Committees, and  is a former Board Member and President of CPT.

Gary Raven, our Managing Director, said “It is such a deserved reward for a man that has worked tirelessly in supporting the industry at every level, championing initiatives and the protection of a comprehensive bus network for every community. It has been, and remains, a pleasure to be working with you Bill at both Board level in your trading businesses as well as being a valued client of the Practice going back too many years to mention! It would be remiss of me not to mention how proud your good friend and former business partner Lyn Watson would have been of the accolade”.

All at Barrons send our congratulations to you Bill on your honour, an incredible achievement merited by the work you have undertaken for the industry over many years!
