When Natalie Catino, Managing Director of Queen Bee’s Day Nursery Ltd, was looking to take the next step in the nursery’s growth, Barrons was pleased to provide the expertise and support needed to help develop her plans.

The opportunity

As part of Queen Bee’s growth plans, Natalie was seeking funding to purchase the business premises in Leigh-on-Sea, providing greater security and allowing her to invest in the long-term future of the nursery.

Having worked closely with Queen Bee’s, Andrew already had a strong understanding of the business, its financial position and Natalie’s ambitions for its future.

With this knowledge, Andrew was able to identify where Barrons’ wider network of external finance contacts could support Natalie and introduced her to Jason Falkingham at Commercial Sense for an initial conversation about the funding required.

Providing the financial information to support the purchase

From there, Andrew liaised with Jason throughout the process, providing quarterly management accounts in a timely and efficient manner to support the financing requirements.

But securing the right finance was only one part of the process.

With the help of Barrons tax experts Russell, Steven and Andrew, a new company was established to ensure the building could be purchased in the most tax-efficient way.

This meant Natalie had support not only with securing the funding required, but also with structuring the purchase appropriately for the business and its future.

Working together to get the deal completed

The Barrons team and Jason worked closely with Natalie throughout the process.

Jason reviewed the finance market and secured a competitive Commercial Mortgage, while also supporting Natalie through the wider conversations with banks, solicitors and other parties involved in the transaction.

Barrons continued to provide the accounting, management information and tax expertise required throughout the process, with everyone working towards the same goal.

The purchase has now completed, marking an exciting new chapter for Queen Bee’s Day Nursery.

More than getting the numbers right

As accountants, we are often in a unique position to spot these opportunities. We understand the client, their financial position, their ambitions and, importantly, the challenges standing in their way.

For Queen Bee’s, that meant bringing together ongoing accounting support, management accounts, specialist tax advice and the right external finance contact to help Natalie turn her plans into reality.

A huge congratulations to Natalie and the whole Queen Bee’s team on this milestone, and well done to Jason Falkingham for helping us make it happen.
